經平台會議達成共識的雙新自行車道，在歷經一年多的工期，總經費達7900多萬的預算，將在4月中旬完工通車。
雙新自行車道取名自桃園新屋和新竹新豐而命名，未來新豐鳳坑漁港段的自行車道也完成後，民眾就能從桃園一路銜接到新竹縣市甚至到苗栗縣的綠光海風自行車道。
